Biography

Leigh has over 14 years’ experience working in the disability sector, with a strong background in Psychology and a current focus on completing her Master of Counselling. She specialises in supporting children and families who have complex disability and medical needs and is passionate about helping them access the supports they deserve and participate meaningfully in their communities without unnecessary barriers.

Before joining Sage, Leigh worked as a Senior Practitioner and Team Leader within the NDIS Early Childhood Team at BCYF/Meli for five and a half years. During this time, she supported children and young people with a wide range of needs, including complex disabilities, medical and health-related conditions, and behaviours of concern. She has extensive experience in assistive technology applications, as well as home and vehicle modification requests.

Leigh’s role involved both direct, face-to-face family support and leadership responsibilities, as well as significant behind-the-scenes work. This has given her a strong and practical understanding of NDIS legislation, policies, and processes. She takes pride in this knowledge and believes that a thorough understanding of the NDIS framework is essential to delivering high-quality, ethical, and effective support.

Leigh is a strong advocate for systemic change within the disability, health, and education systems. She is passionate about addressing service gaps, challenging barriers to access, and ensuring that children and families with complex needs are not left behind. Her work is guided by a commitment to equity, rights-based practice, and long-term outcomes for the families she supports.
