Mel has five years of experience in the disability sector, including four years as an NDIS Support Coordinator. Her career began in Western Australia as a mental health support worker, where she primarily supported individuals living with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and intellectual disabilities.
Mel possesses a comprehensive understanding of the NDIS framework, including the types of supports that are eligible for funding. She is particularly passionate about working with young people and values a collaborative approach with care teams to help participants achieve their personal goals. Her experience spans a diverse range of clients, including those with psychosocial, physical, neurodegenerative, and developmental conditions.
Mel holds a Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in Health Promotion, and is currently completing a Diploma of Counselling. She has a strong interest in supporting individuals to improve their mental health through practical strategies such as mindfulness, exercise, and meditation.
Originally from New Zealand, Mel relocated to Australia six years ago. In her spare time, she enjoys music, cooking, yoga, pilates, and playing tennis.
